Martin Hurn

Event Director, Futurebuild

'm Martin Hurn, Event Director of Futurebuild, and I’ve spent the past decade championing innovation, sustainability, and meaningful collaboration across the built environment. I’m proud to lead an event that’s become more than just a showcase — Futurebuild is a catalyst for change, a place where ideas spark action, and where connections drive real impact. Each year, I work closely with industry pioneers, manufacturers, policymakers, architects, and disruptors to curate a platform that brings the right people together to accelerate progress towards a net-zero future. Whether through our Knowledge Programme, exhibitor community, or the Futurebuild Podcast, my focus is always on turning purpose into progress. If you’re committed to shaping a better built environment — through innovation, partnership or influence — I’d love to connect. Let’s have a conversation about how we can work together to create lasting impact.

Katrina Percival

Business Development Manager, North of England & North Wales, The Chartered Institute of Building

My role is to identify and work with organisations, in the North of England & North Wales, who are eligible to be a Chartered Company or Training Partner. Chartered Company or Consultancy Membership is determined by chartership of the Board and number of years trading. * 50% of the Board must be Chartered, one with CIOB & * Minimum of 2 years trading This Chartership demonstrates professionalism, quality and competencies via an application and assessments process. We have members from SME's to Tier1's. For those that don't meet eligibility for Chartered Company Membership, we have a Training Partnership Agreement that you can enter into.  Our Training Partners either, can't meet the above criteria because they are too large, or aren't directly involved on construction, but have estates teams or departments who are.  Our Training Partners also have access to resources to support membership of CIOB, Pathways to CIOB Chartership and opportunities for training and development via our Academy. To find out more about either of the above opportunities I can be contacted at: kpercival@ciob.org.uk or 01344 630868

Managing Director/Publishing Director, Built Environment & Architecture Media/Architecture Today

As MD of Built Environment and Architecture Media I work with the talented and creative teams behind Architecture Today, School of Specification, RegenerativeArchitecture.org, CMA Awards and the Construction & Built Environment Marketing Network. My track record in architecture and built environment media - and the industry more widely - spans over 30 years, continuously creating opportunities for championing and supporting our professional communities as they have grappled with the challenges and opportunities of our times. I still relish the challenge of reinventing established media brands in response to the changing needs of our audiences and the realities of a fast-changing media landscape and have overseen the successful relaunch of The Architects’ Journal, RIBA Journal and Architecture Today as multi-media content platforms as well as notable launches such as AJ 40 Under 40, UK Architecture at MIPIM and the World Architecture Festival.   I became an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects in 2023.

Experienced, Chartered Marketer with over 25 years experience across B2B, B2C, B2B2C channels.   With over a decade at director level I have demonstrated a history of success in developing and implementing successful marketing strategies.   Experienced across all traditional marketing channels through to digital and social media activity, CRM programmes, managing small and large budgets and focussing on the customer to deliver growth campaigns and activity.  People are at the heart of what we do as marketers and therefore understanding customer behaviour, their needs and wants and how your product or service is so important.  Being able to step back and challenge is this right for the customer is vital to succeeding in marketing.
